Academic enrichment at Our Lady of Lourdes

Schoolwide enrichment programs take place during the last weeks of school. Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to choose from a variety of options. The program has included; Digital Storytelling, An Exploration of the Waterways of the DC Metro area, Creating Art from Found Objects, The Physics of Paper Airplanes, Poetry, Cooking, Photography, The Study of American Music and many other classes. Students in the primary grades enjoy rotating classes of Science, Mathematics and Language Arts, and work in mixed grade level groups.

Teachers provide enrichment throughout the school day to students who have mastered grade level objectives.

Latin enrichment classes are available to OLOL middle school students. Classes are taught by Dr. Luigi DeLuca from 7:20 am to 7:55 am two mornings per week. There is an additional charge for these classes.

Resource

Students can be referred for Resource services by a parent or a teacher. Three Resource teachers provide in class and pull out support for students who need interventions, accommodations or modifications to the curriculum.

Band at Our Lady of LourdesBand

Band is offered to all students in grades four through eight. Students take lessons once a week, and the Advanced Band rehearses once a week after school.
