What an incredibly busy and beautiful week we had at OLOL! Our 8th grade hosted a Bake Sale on Monday, and combined with the Pink Day, raised $1140 to support Breast Cancer research and prevention. We had an outstanding Donuts for Dads on Tuesday and then the middle school headed out to the great outdoors for exploring and learning with Mr. Long and our magnificent teachers. Our 5th graders really shined at OLOL while the middle school was away. From announcements, to patrols, to welcoming students on the front steps, the 5th graders showed us that they are more than ready to take on added responsibilities. Finally, we ended our week with another beautiful day and our K & 1 students traveling to the Farm & Pumpkin Patch with their 8th grade buddies. This was a true fall spectacular at OLOL and now we are heading into our last week of October and the end of our first quarter.
Unfortunately we had COVID exposure among our preschool classes and those students will have to quarantine until November 1. Please keep all those who are ill and who are quarantining in your prayers.
Today I finished a three day retreat with other principals and the leadership from the Catholic Schools Office in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. I bring OLOL with me to these events and brag about our school to my colleagues whenever I can. We are doing amazing things in this school because of every student, parent, faculty, staff, administrator, and clergy who believes in and supports our mission. Together we make this a truly special place to learn and grow and become closer to God. During this retreat, I had time to think about all of our community and reflect on the many blessings that OLOL has brought to my life. Thank you for your contribution. Thank you to our amazing students, supportive teachers, and dedicated faculty and staff. Each of your contributions come together to build a remarkable piece of the world, situated at 7500 Pearl Street, and I thank God for putting me here to work for and with this community.
May God go with you,
