Happy Fall to all our OLOL families!
We made it through two rainy, dark days and have a beautiful fall Friday today and a lovely weekend ahead of us. As we come to the end of our first month back in school, I ask you to think about changes. Just as the seasons change so beautifully in this area, our children are ever changing and growing. As parents with older children know, you often reflect on "where did the time go" or "look how much you've grown". Being at Our Lady of Lourdes for 22 years, I look around and see grown students coming back to teach at our school, I bump into 30 year old adults who were in my second grade class, and I wonder how the time has passed. I have such wonderful memories of nurturing and educating children here at OLOL and I am excited for the 210 students in our building this year, who come to school everyday and learn about God's love for them and how to build friendships and be respectful of one another and the amazing teachers and adults in their lives. This weekend I challenge you to take some special time with your children to record some "mental photographs" of your child at this stage in their lives. How are they feeling? What are they most interested in at this time? What are they learning and experiencing at school? What stories or memories can you share with them about your childhood? Time together, without the TV, phone, or other devices, time to talk and to listen to one another, is so valuable. I pray that you will have a blessed weekend and be thankful for the new season of our year and for all the "seasons" of our life.
May God be with you,
