Just last week I talked about change – about how hard it is to realize that things change whether we want them to or not. This week, I have included a list of some of the changes that will take place here at Lourdes in the fall. While I have always thought that young teachers bring a special energy to a school, I also hire them knowing that they will likely move on after we have had them with us for a couple of years. They will be paid more, or they will have discovered what it is they were meant to do with their
lives. This year, we will send some teachers off to new schools and new careers. We also have some strategic moves being made by teachers within the building that I expect will bring some new excitement and some positive changes in several areas.
I know you want to join me in thanking the teachers who are leaving, and wishing them well in their next adventure. Later in the summer I will share with you the names of the new teachers who will join us next year.
We wish you all a restful and safe summer. Don’t forget to get some sand between your toes, read a trashy book, buy a funnel cake or some boardwalk fries, and catch some fireflies. Your children have stolen our hearts this year. They have inspired us with their joy, their curiosity and their love. Thank you for sharing them with us.
