Hello OLOL families!
I hope everyone is doing well and excited about our upcoming first "regular" two day weekend and our first Monday back at school! Today we end our second quarter of the school year and I am so thankful and appreciative to all the members of our school and community that have made this wonderful accomplishment possible. The dedication to excellence from our faculty and staff is evident in every morning greeting, every afternoon farewell, and all the special care and instruction that comes in between. We have some exciting things coming up in the next few weeks and some important events and deadlines that all our families will want to take note of and make sure to complete. Have a blessed weekend, Ms. Moore Re-enrollment Last Friday all families received their re-enrollment letter from TADS. We are so happy to welcome you back to OLOL for the 2021-2022 school year. We need all families to re-enroll and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit by February 8 in order to ensure their child's place in each classroom. We have many interested families and will be opening up registration to new applicants after the re-enrollment deadline on Feb. 8. Please help us by re-enrolling now and guaranteeing your child's place at OLOL next year! If you have any questions about TADS or the re-enrollment process, please email Ms. Winters at awinters@bethesda-lourdes.org. Dinner Out - Delivered to you in the OLOL Parking Lot! Take a well deserved break from planning and preparing dinner next Wednesday, January 17. This is a great opportunity to bring home a delicious dinner for you and your family and support OLOL at the same time. Place your orders by NOON on Sunday, January 24th. Meals will be ready for pick up in the school parking lot between 3-4pm on Wed., Jan. 27. Click here to order: www.othmarket.com/ Read-a-thon- Jan. 23 to Feb. 7 We are about to start our 2nd Annual Read-a-thon. About half of our students have already set up their accounts online and we already have over $3000 in donations in support of our readers and OLOL! All students who activate their account win a Free Dress Day on Tuesday, Jan. 26. There are lots of prizes to earn for reading and raising money. Please see the information below from my parent letter sent earlier this week. Our home page has a link to our Read-a-thon dashboard to watch all the reading and fundraising accomplishments. Mid-Year Standardized Testing for students in grades 2-8 Students in grades 2-8 will take the mid-year standardized tests in reading and math next week. Your child's homeroom teacher will let you know which date this will happen and remind families to make sure students get a good night's rest and a good breakfast to start the day. There will not be homework assigned the night before (except to read perhaps) and no other tests or quizzes scheduled for a testing day. Catholic Schools Week Catholic Schools Week is a special time when we reflect on our wonderful school and give thanks for all that a Catholic education brings to all our lives. We examine our motto of Faith, Excellence, and Service and discover ways to show our gratitude toward all the people in our school, parish, and family who make our Catholic school such an important part of our lives. During the week of Feb 1-5 we will take part in many special activities and service opportunities that will help us to grow as a community of faith and to support others. See the flyer below for some of our plans for the week. Canned Food Drive One of our service projects, sponsored by the Fifth Grade, is a canned food collection to support the Catholic Charities Food Bank. Please consider donating canned goods during the week. There will be bins at the temperature stations at arrival time and bins in the parking lot at dismissal all week from Feb. 1 - 5. Read Aloud Day is Feb. 3 Parents if you have a favorite story book that you would like to read aloud, please record your video and send it to your child's homeroom teacher by Feb. 2. We will share these stories during our celebration of World Read Aloud Day on Feb. 3. Your homeroom teacher will email more information on Jan. 25. Comments are closed.
