Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day. God has given us a warm and sunny afternoon to hold all our Thanksgiving gatherings outside! Thank you to everyone who attended Grandparents Day! It was a beautiful celebration of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for all the gifts in our lives. I was very touched to see so many grandparents attending from all over the world. We were able to make a special morning for all of us in these challenging times. It was perhaps even more special because of our current situation and our ability to connect with family from all over the world! We need to find time to be together whenever and however we can! (If you weren't able to see our performance video it will be posted on our One MOORE thing Daily Edition page). Have a wonderful day and restful holiday! Ms. Moore Reminders: The Book Fair is underway. Drop by online and do some shopping! We will keep the book fair open through next week so our families can do some holiday shopping. We have almost $2000 in total sales so far. (Just for a frame of reference, that's about what we collect in one day of our on campus book fair) Please help support our library by purchasing items at the book fair. Click here - Shop Now Our Annual Fund it up to $7000! We still have a long way to go. Let's all join together and give a donation, any size is appreciated, let's come together to reach 100% participation in support of OLOL and all the wonderful things we are doing. If there was ever a year to join together it is 2020. You can always donate again during the year, but now join in our push to reach our goal of having 100% of our faculty, staff, and families donate by December 1. Donate to the Christmas Gift Collection for OLOL faculty & staff. Go to the school store in the main menu. Winter Coats for those in need As you start digging out your cold weather coats, consider donating lightly used (cleaned) and/or new coats and other cold weather items. We will do things a bit differently this year due to COVID. Mrs. Gadwood has graciously volunteered to manage this drive, collect used (cleaned) and new items here at school on specific dates, and drop them off with Catholic Charities by January 15. Our first drop of date is Friday, December 4. Bring your cleaned, lightly used coats, new coats, and new scarves, hats, gloves to the parking lot during arrival and dismissal. See the flyer below for more information. Please remember about Thanksgiving plans and travel. We are keeping school closed for two extra days to give us some time away from school after our holiday, but we need every family to make sure to follow state and county regulations and CDC safety precautions. If you travel out of the area and/or attend gatherings with a large group, please stay home for additional days during the week after Thanksgiving to ensure that your child has not been exposed and then unknowingly exposes students and teachers at school. See the information below: OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL ADVISORY. With the holiday season approaching, the travel advisory issued by state health officials has been renewed and remains in effect. Under this advisory, Marylanders are strongly advised against traveling to states with positivity rates of 10% or higher. Anyone traveling from these states should get tested and self-quarantine while awaiting results. Marylanders should avoid non-essential travel of any kind outside of the region. Read the travel advisory. (from https://governor.maryland.gov/2020/11/05/governor-hogan-maryland-prepared-for-fall-covid-19-surge-warns-against-complacency/) Comments are closed.
