This morning feels like fall... finally! The clouds are still a bit heavy in the sky as I write this, but it was a glorious morning at OLOL. The students, teachers, and staff all celebrated the Living Rosary today at the Grotto outside of our church. We were joined by some parishioners, parents, and even a few people who saw us and stopped to pray for a while. Praying the Living Rosary at OLOL is one of my favorite days. The 7th grade led by Mr. Sahadi and Mr. Long put together a special opportunity for our OLOL community. A life-size rosary was created with string, ribbon, and blue and white balloons. Students held on the rosary, folded their hands, or held their own rosary as we prayed the Rosary together. Mr. Long reminded us that Mary, our Mother, gives 15 promises to those who recite the Rosary. Mr. Long talked about how Mary promises to protect us: "The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies." Here is an article I found about the 15 promises Mary gives to those who pray the Rosary. It would be a great idea to pray the Rosary at home with your family and discuss the promises of Mary.
