Enrichment

- Schoolwide enrichment programs take place during the school year. Students in the primary grades engage in project based learning based on a chosen theme.
- Teachers provide enrichment throughout the school day to students who have mastered grade level objectives, and create cross-curricular lessons and projects to reinforce student learning.
This year we will be offering math enrichment with Mr. Dwyer once a week for students in grades 4 and up. We will also be offering an after school Italian class to students in K through 6th grade.
ChoirDoes your child like to sing? Then they should JOIN CHOIR! Mrs. Parcon leads an outstanding choir for students in grades 4 through 8. Choir performs once a month at the 9am Sunday Mass, the choir leads our weekly school Mass, they perform at our two band and choir concerts during the school year, and various other opportunities. Choir students attend one weekly after school rehearsal.

Band

- Band is offered to all students in grades four through eight. Students take lessons once a week, and the Advanced Band rehearses once a week after school. Band lessons take place during the school day, last for 40 minutes, and students are pulled from academic classes for band on a rotating basis.

Drama
The Drama Club is open to all students in grades 6,7 & 8. The Drama Club begins rehearsals in January for their annual musical production. The Drama Club, under the direction of Mrs. Stallsmith has presented such outstanding musical productions as Annie Jr., The Sound of Music, and Aladdin.
Newspaper Club
The Newspaper Club is open to students in grades 6,7 & 8. The newspaper is published several times a year, and distributed to Lourdes families, members of the Parish, and prospective families who attend Open House. The OLOL School Newspaper has received numerous accolades.
Student Government
In the Fall of the school year, eighth grade students have an opportunity to run for Student Government. They campaign and present their platforms in speeches to students in grades 4-8. The four officers of the Student Government are responsible for organizing fundraisers, tag days, spirit week and other activities throughout the school year.
Scouting
Cub Scout Pack 8 is one of the oldest Packs in the country. They meet weekly at Our Lady of Lourdes. Visit their website.
Girl Scout Daisies is for girls in grades K & 1. We meet once a month - last year it was the first Friday of each month - after school at OLOL from 3:15 - 4:30pm. The girls have fun learning about nature, science and exploring our community through art and music and hands on activities. They learn what it means to be a Girl Scout - our mission and the values. Daisies earn Flower petals and badges for their achievements. We sell Girl Scout cookies in the second half of the year. We go on one to two field trips a year.

Resource
- Students can be referred for Resource services by a parent or a teacher. Three Resource teachers provide in-class and pull-out support for students who need interventions, accommodations or modifications to the curriculum.
- Resource teachers are present in all primary grade classrooms during reading instruction, and when needed at other times during the school day.
The SAT Procedure
Teachers, administrators or parents can request an SAT (Student Assistance Team) meeting for a child who is struggling to meet grade-level expectations for behavior or academics.

- Student is recommended to the Resource Director for SAT
- Resource Director seeks input from all teachers who teach the child.
- The Resource Director or a designated resource teacher observes the student in the classroom.
- SAT meets within four weeks of recommendation.
- Recommendations are made to teachers who teach the child and to the parents if appropriate.
- Date for follow-up meeting is set (usually 6 weeks).
